Song Exchange 2027 »Everything okay?« – Concert for secondary schools
Growing Up in Turbulent Times
What’s it like to grow up in uncertain times? This year’s Song Exchange explores the emotional world of growing older under the title »Alles okay?« (Everything Okay?). The experience of mental health being heavily influenced by stress is one that most young people will go through. You’re not alone in this. And that’s exactly what this year’s concert is all about.
Finding Strength in Song
Around 1,500 children – divided between primary and secondary schools – prepare throughout the school year for the Song Exchange, rehearsing to sing on stage alongside the Rundfunkchor Berlin. In the lead-up to the event, our singers visit the school choirs’ rehearsals to inspire the students about choral singing and work through the Liederbörse repertoire with them.
On 29 April, it’s time once again. Berlin’s secondary school students will gather in the Philharmonie’s Chamber Music Hall. This time, under the direction of Florian Benfer, they’ll present a programme designed to encourage listening to oneself.

Philharmonie Berlin, Chamber Music Hall
The Kammermusiksaal, located right next to the Philharmonie Berlin, was built between 1984 and 1987 according to plans by Edgar Wisniewski. It was based on a sketch by Hans Scharoun, who also designed the Kulturforum in what was then ‘no man's land’ near the inner Berlin Wall. The building is reminiscent of the Philharmonie Berlin in many ways, but has an atmosphere of its own. With 1,180 seats, it is rather large for a chamber music hall, yet all seats offer good visibility and acoustics.
