Rundfunkchor Berlin’s Schola

The Schola of the Rundfunkchor Berlin offers voice students the opportunity to become familiar with the challenges faced by a professional ensemble choral singing during a concentrated week-long project. Rehearsing together with Rundfunkchor Berlin and in concert, they experience directly what is involved in the career of a choral singer.

Being a professional choral singer for a week

From the 5th till 18th september 2022 the small ensemble will prepare and perform a demanding a cappella program under the direction of Justus Barleben, assistant to Rundfunkchor Berlin’s principal conductor. In addition, the students will gain insights into choral symphonic work when they rehearse a 20th century choral symphonic work with the Rundfunkchor Berlin and Gijs Leenaars. At the end of an intensive week of rehearsals, the students will perform the work on three days with the Berliner Philharmoniker under the direction of Kirill Petrenko in the Berlin Philharmonie.

All participants receive a certificate of participation at the end of the week.
