The Friends and Supporters of the Rundfunkchor Berlin play a vital role in backing the choir’s wide-ranging projects. Their aim is to ensure that this world-class ensemble continues to create truly special musical experiences for years to come. After all, an exceptional choir deserves exceptional support – and the ongoing commitment of those who receive so much from it.
Up close
By becoming a member of the Friends and Supporters of the Rundfunkchor Berlin or through targeted donations, you make a meaningful contribution to an ensemble that regularly turns its audience into active participants.
As a member, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the choir up close – meeting the singers and gaining insight into how performances come together from first rehearsal to final applause.
Membership benefits
Supporting Membership
As a supporting member, you’ll enjoy:
- Direct contact with the singers of the Rundfunkchor Berlin and its chief conductor.
- The chance to attend rehearsals and witness professional musical work first-hand.
- Invitations to exclusive events for supporters, such as behind-the-scenes talks on major concert projects.
- Regular updates on the choir’s work, along with a say in which projects receive funding.
- Priority booking for the choir’s popular Sing-Along Concerts, including the opportunity to take part in the dress rehearsal free of charge the day before.
The annual membership fee is at least €100.
Friends Membership
This option is designed for those who feel particularly connected to the Rundfunkchor Berlin through its Sing-Along Concerts.
Members receive priority booking for these concerts, as well as free participation in the rehearsal on the preceding day. Other benefits are not included with this membership tier.
That said, Friends still receive regular updates on the choir and the association’s activities, and they can help shape funding decisions at the annual general meeting.
The annual membership fee is at least €75.
Membership for pupils and students
This membership includes all the benefits of a supporting membership at a reduced rate of at least €36 per year.
Current funding priorities
- The Rundfunkchor Academy Programme offers emerging singers a pathway into the professional choral world, supported through scholarships funded by the association.
- Through its co-funding of the SING! initiative, the association helps introduce children and young people to the joy of singing together.
- Financial support for rehearsal space equipment ensures the choir benefits from optimal working conditions.
- The Friends and Supporters also contribute to the choir’s public outreach and communications.
