What We Do

Festival of Choral Cultures

In January for the first time, Rundfunkchor Berlin will be hosting choirs from all over the world in its diverse Festival of Choral Cultures.

On four days during the Berlin winter break, ambitious amateur choirs from regions including the Baltic, South Africa, China and Indonesia will come together at a competition for the “Grand Prix of Nations”, organized by Interkultur, the world’s leading coordinator of choral events. In the evenings, the choirs will inaugurate a fascinating international overview in the Philharmonie’s Chamber Music Hall, surveying “what and how they sing in other parts of the world”.

Rundfunkchor Berlin will serve as patron for two evening concerts in Berlin as well as for a gala concert representing its first exclusively a cappella sing-along programme. Up to 120 guest singers, applying via YouTube to participate, will sing works by Rheinberger and Schütz along with Rundfunkchor Berlin.
