Nico Köhs

Nico Köhs studied piano with Sheila Arnold and choral conducting with Peter Dijkstra and Florian Helgath at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne, following an initial degree in music education. He has also taken artistic inspiration from musicians such as Anthony Spiri, Fabio Bidini, Götz Payer, Simon Halsey and Zoltán Pad.

As a conductor he collaborates with ensembles including the WDR Rundfunkchor, Chorwerk Ruhr, the RIAS Kammerchor, the Zürcher Singakademie and the Rundfunkchor Berlin. Since October 2023 he has been Artistic Director of the Philharmonischer Chor Köln, and in January 2026 he took up the post of Assistant to the Principal Conductor of the Rundfunkchor Berlin. Since April 2024 he has been a scholarship holder in the concert promotion programme of the Deutscher Musikrat.
