Hyewon Ju

Hyewon Ju, Sopran im Rundfunkchor Berlin

The Korean soprano Hyewon Ju began her academic training as top of her year at the renowned Korea National University of Arts. She then continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, where she completed both her Master’s in opera and her concert examination with highest marks and distinction. Her exceptional talent was further recognised in 2020, when she was awarded second prize in the Alumni-GFF Competition.

On stage she has appeared in roles such as Zerlina in Mozart’s »Don Giovanni«, an Italian Singer in Strauss’s »Capriccio«, Princess Natalie in Henze’s »Der Prinz von Homburg«, the Comtesse in Rossini’s »Le Comte Ory« and Lucinda in Piccinni’s »La buona figliola«. She has also sung as a soloist in Orff’s »Carmina Burana«, Rossini’s »Petite Messe solennelle«, Bach’s »Weihnachtsoratorium« and a variety of other Bach cantatas.

After taking part in both the Academy and Schola of the Rundfunkchor Berlin and an initial fixed-term contract, Hyewon Ju has been a permanent member of this esteemed ensemble since 2026 and performs regularly with the choir at the Berlin Philharmonie.
