RundfunkchorLounge 25/26: »Von Geld und Gier« – Musikalisch über den Wert der Dinge
Music and Money: »It’s Complicated«
The central role of money in the world of music has long been evident — and not just since the recent budget cuts in Berlin. Whether it’s the church, aristocratic or bourgeois patrons, public funding, or commercial institutions: the question, who provides the financial means to fully dedicate oneself to art (and above all, how much!) has been unavoidable for musicians over the past centuries.
Lounge Comeback
After a one-year break, the first RundfunkchorLounge returns to explore not only the history of money but also numerous fascinating musical examples from the Baroque to the Beatles. We warmly welcome you back to the familiar and cozy atmosphere of Heimathafen Neukölln. The Rundfunkchor Berlin, as well as conductor Gijs Leenaars and co-conductor Justus Barleben, provide the evening’s musical program on the theme. Guiding through the evening is journalist and presenter Tessniem Kadiri, who—together with Gijs Leenaars and author and activist Yannick Haan—will open up inspiring perspectives on justice, work, and social change.
