Thomas Pfützner
Thomas Pfützner was born in 1974 in Lutherstadt Eisleben and sang with the Dresdner Kreuzchor during his school years. From 1996 to 2002 he studied voice with Heidi Petzold at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden. During this time he appeared in various opera productions – including Purcell’s »King Arthur« (Dresden, 1998) and the world premiere of Benjamin Schweitzer’s »Jakob von Gunten« (Meißen, 1999) – performed with early music ensembles and sang with the Dresdner Kammerchor under Hans-Christoph Rademann.
He has been a member of the Rundfunkchor Berlin since August 2002 and maintains a busy concert schedule as an ensemble singer and soloist. In 2004 he appeared at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Schönberg’s »Moses und Aron«, and for several seasons he sang at the Bayreuth Festival as well as at various opera houses. Chamber .ensembles are particularly close to his heart: alongside appearances in programmes inspired by the Comedian Harmonists, he was a member of the male sextet 6cant, founded from within the Rundfunkchor Berlin.
