Roksolana Chraniuk
Roksolana Chraniuk discovered her love of singing shortly before completing her violin studies at the regional specialist music school in Poznań. After a brief period of private tuition she went on to study voice at the Berlin University of the Arts, specialising in song, oratorio and concert repertoire. Her training was broadened in masterclasses with Alessandro De Marchi and Raúl Giménez, and she has worked on her vocal technique with Verena Rein since 2007.
As a concert soloist she is heard regularly in the alto parts of Bach’s major oratorios, as well as in works by, among others, Beethoven, Rossini and Dvořák, and by composers such as Dmitri Bortnyansky and Luigi Nono. In 2018 she sang one of the solo roles in the world premiere of Seongju Oh’s »Lux aeterna« at the Berlin Philharmonie. She has also devised and performed song recitals, including programmes of Mahler’s »Wunderhorn« and Rückert songs, in Dresden, at Burg Namedy in Rhineland-Palatinate, at the Leszno Barok Plus festival in Poland, at the 13th Lviv Organ Hall Festival and at the Lviv Philharmonic in Ukraine.
A particular concern for her is promoting Ukrainian art song. She has performed songs by Stefania Turkewich, Vasyl Barvinsky and Kyrylo Stetsenko in Berlin, Dresden and in her native Ukraine. In spring 2022 the label auris subtilis released »Seel an Seele«, a recording featuring songs by Vasyl Barvinsky alongside selected works by Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss. She has held scholarships from the Richard Wagner Association Berlin-Brandenburg and the Paul Hindemith Society in Berlin.
Roksolana discovered her passion for ensemble singing during her studies, performing in projects with Vocalconsort Berlin and sirventes berlin. She has been a permanent member of the Rundfunkchor Berlin since 2007.
