Raoul Bumiller
Raoul Bumiller, born in Böblingen in 1996, received his first musical training with the Aurelius Sängerknaben, where individual voice work is closely tied to daily choral practice. Even as a young male voice he won several first prizes at the »Jugend musiziert« competition, both as a soloist and with a men’s ensemble.
To prepare for his studies he took lessons with Turid Karlsen in Stuttgart before beginning a vocal degree at the Hochschule für Musik Trossingen with Andreas Reibenspies. His first stage experience came in 2018/19 as a chorus deputy in Stage Entertainment’s Stuttgart production of »The Hunchback of Notre Dame«. In 2019 he was awarded a Wagner scholarship by the Richard Wagner Association in Ulm; a planned debut at Theater Konstanz in Kurt Weill’s »The Seven Deadly Sins« had to be cancelled in spring 2020 due to the pandemic.
At the beginning of 2022 he took part in the Rundfunkchor Berlin’s Schola and has since sung regularly with leading project ensembles such as Chorwerk Ruhr, Vokalensemble Rastatt, Figure Humaine and the Kammerchor Stuttgart, where he also appears as a soloist. Raoul Bumiller has been a permanent member of the Rundfunkchor Berlin since March 2023.
