Rachel Dries

“I firmly believe that classical music is very important. You just have to make it accessible.”
Rachel-Sophia Dries, born in Berlin in 1981, studied musicology and Italian studies at Freie Universität and Humboldt-Universität Berlin. As a child from a music-loving family, she was a member of the Berlin Concert Choir and the children’s choir of the Deutsche Oper Berlin. During her studies, she gained professional experience in cultural management by working at the Berlin Vagantenbühne, with the orchestras and choirs of Humboldt University and in the management of Max Raabe and his Palastorchester.
In 2011, she prepared the first choral fair “chor.com” at the German Choral Association and shortly afterwards took over the marketing and communications department at Rundfunkchor Berlin, where she accompanied the appointment of chief conductor Gijs Leenaars in fall 2015, among other things. After four seasons at the Schaubühne / Lehniner Platz, she returned to the Rundfunkchor Berlin in August 2022, where she took over the position of choir director.
