Peter Ewald, Sänger im Rundfunkchor Berlin (Tenor)

The tenor Peter Ewald was born in 1965 in Hennigsdorf near Berlin and studied church music in Halle (Saale) from 1984 to 1990, with teachers including Georg Christoph Biller and Helmut Gleim (choral and orchestral conducting), Matthias Dreißig (organ), Thomas Meyer (piano) and Olaf Schöder (voice). While still a student he was already appearing as a soloist in conservatoire concerts. After graduating he moved to the Spreewald region, where he worked full-time as a church musician in five parishes until 2011.

From 1996 to 1998 he returned to Halle to study concert and oratorio singing at the Hochschule für Kirchenmusik, once again with Olaf Schöder, and has been active as a soloist ever since. Peter Ewald first sang with the Rundfunkchor Berlin as a deputy in 2001 and went on to work regularly with the ensemble, alongside guest appearances with the NDR Chor, the MDR-Rundfunkchor and the RIAS Kammerchor from 2005 onwards. He has been a permanent member of the Rundfunkchor Berlin since February 2011.
