Misaki Kobayashi

Misaki Kobayashi, Sopran im Rundfunkchor Berlin

Misaki Kobayashi was born in Mie, Japan. She trained at the Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music with Eiko Morikawa, completing her Master’s degree with distinction in 2015, and continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik Lübeck with Franz-Josef Einhaus, again graduating with distinction in 2021.​

She is a prize-winner of several vocal competitions in Japan, including the Mie Music Competition (2013) and the Student Music Concours of Japan (2nd prize, 2016). She is also a scholarship holder of the Daiko Cultural Foundation and the Okada Cultural Foundation.

On the opera stage in Aichi and Lübeck she has sung roles such as Pamina in Mozart’s »Die Zauberflöte«, Despina in »Così fan tutte«, Annio in »La clemenza di Tito«, Sophie in Udo Zimmermann’s »Weiße Rose« and Eleonore in Bohuslav Martinů’s »Die Tränen des Messers«.

Misaki Kobayashi has been a permanent member of the Rundfunkchor Berlin since January 2024.
