Isabelle Voßkühler
Born in Berlin in 1971, Isabelle Voßkühler began vocal training with Herbert Brauer at the age of 15. She studied musicology and Romance studies before undertaking vocal studies with Jutta Schlegel at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin. She sang with the Ernst Senff Chor, where she also took on smaller solo roles.
Voßkühler has performed with the RIAS Kammerchor, the NDR Chor, Collegium Vocale Gent and the Rundfunkchor Berlin, with which she has been a permanent member since 1997 and often appeared as a soloist under conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Sir Simon Rattle (including as one of the maids in Peter Sellars’ staged Bach Passions), Mikhail and Vladimir Jurowski, Marek Janowski, Kent Nagano, Ingo Metzmacher, Daniel Harding (as Die Not in Schumann’s »Szenen aus Goethes Faust«) and Nikolaus Harnoncourt (as the girl in Schubert’s »Alfonso und Estrella«). For several years she has also appeared in contemporary music concerts with the ensemble Intégrales.
In 2018 she joined forces with Judith Simonis, Holger Marks and Axel Scheidig to found the a cappella ensemble Berlin’s 4.
