Gesine Nowakowski
Gesine Nowakowski studied voice at the Berlin University of the Arts with Johannes Hoefflin. Her education was complemented by masterclasses with Axel Bauni, René Jacobs, Thomas Thomaschke, Peter Schreier and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. During her studies she received the distinction of a CD production by the Berlin University of the Arts featuring songs by J. H. Wetzel (with pianist Manfred Schmidt) and appeared in recital at the Kyoto International Music Students Festival in Japan; she is also a scholarship holder of the Deutscher Musikrat.
She has appeared in a wide variety of music theatre productions at venues including Oper Halle, Konzerthaus Berlin, Deutsches Theater, Maxim Gorki Theater and the Berliner Volksbühne, and has sung, danced and acted in numerous productions with the ensemble lautten compagney Berlin. As a concert artist she has performed at renowned German and European festivals such as the Schwetzingen Festival, the Schumanniade and the Festival Mitte Europa.
Gesine Nowakowski has been a permanent member of the Rundfunkchor Berlin since 2009.
