Georg Witt

As a schoolboy, Georg Witt sang in the children’s choir of St Hedwig’s Cathedral and played the Renaissance trombone. At the Berlin Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler he studied voice, trombone and piano. His first engagements took him to the Mecklenburg State Theatre in Schwerin and then to the Komische Oper Berlin. He has been a member of the Rundfunkchor Berlin since 1988.

As a soloist he is particularly devoted to song repertoire in the alto range, and in the vocal ensemble 6cant, which he co-founded in 2001 with colleagues from the Rundfunkchor Berlin, he sings the countertenor part.
