Bruno Meichsner
Born in Berlin in 1998, lyric baritone Bruno Meichsner discovered his love of singing in 2005 as a member of the Knabenchor Berlin. He studied voice with Stephan Rügamer at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin and received important artistic impulses from Thomas Hampson, Wolfram Rieger, Kammersänger Robert Holl, Susan Manoff and Martin Bruns. His twin passions are song and ensemble singing.
During his studies he appeared as the servant Pasquino in Haydn’s »Il mondo della luna« and as a chorus soloist in Purcell’s »Dido and Aeneas« and Britten’s »Curlew River«. In May 2022 he sang parts of Demetrius in Britten’s »A Midsummer Night’s Dream«, and most recently he appeared as Papageno in Mozart’s »Die Zauberflöte« at the Hanns Eisler School. As a concert soloist he performs baritone and bass parts in oratorios and requiems by Bach, Brahms, Fauré and Saint-Saëns.
In the 2021/22 season he was a scholarship holder with the RIAS Kammerchor Berlin, before joining the chorus of the Komische Oper Berlin for the following season, working with directors such as Barrie Kosky, Andreas Homoki and Nadja Loschky. Bruno Meichsner has been a member of the Rundfunkchor Berlin since the 2023/24 season and was also a scholarship holder of the Heidelberger Frühling Lied Academy in 2023/24.
