Have you finished school and would like to get a taste of culture and complete a voluntary social year in cultural Berlin? Join the Rundfunkchor Berlin! Here you have the opportunity to look behind the scenes of one of Berlin’s most famous choirs in a young and committed team, to be inspired and to support us with your work and your ideas. Registration

The registration period runs until March 15, 2025. You can register directly via the Freiwilligendienste Kultur und Bildung website (Voluntary Services Culture and Education), where you will also find further information.

IMPORTANT: You must be at least 18 years old to register.

What can you expect from us?

You will gain comprehensive insight into our work with a professional choir: How is a conductor chosen for the choir? How do you plan a concert? Where does the sheet music come from? How do you promote a concert to a wide audience?

The FSJ year at Rundfunkchor Berlin is a tour through all areas of choir management. You will support us in the preparation of various concert events and look after the singers and guests. You will work together with the project management team and the artistic administrations office at various events. For our annual Song Exchange project, you will support the team in all organizational matters (scheduling rehearsal plans, procuring sheet music, contact with the venue, singers, etc.) and will also gain insight into the work of the marketing team from the initial planning stages to the finalization of its strategy. We will be happy to talk about your own creative input at any time. For a choir to work well, it also needs office hours, including updating address lists and maintaining data records – the basic framework for all our choir work, so to speak.
