"We need to build up a-cappella-audiences in the future. And we have to do it by making connections with each member of our audience."
Simon Halsey
Music develops creativity, cognition and social and psychomotor skills as well as fostering concentration and the readiness to learn and achieve. For these reasons, Rundfunkchor Berlin has involved itself since 1998 in cultural work with young people. Its offerings are addressed to schoolchildren, students and adults and serve to augment both the instruction available at traditional schools and the musical training provided by music schools and conservatories.
Rundfunkchor Berlin, in dialogue with teachers and lecturers, tailors its programmes to the individual needs of the respective target group. The breadth of its offerings extends from attendance at concerts and rehearsals, by way of concert introductions, workshops, project days and sing-along concerts, to choir sponsorships, choir academies and masterclasses for aspiring professionals.
