Wolfram Teßmer

Wolfgang Teßmer, was born in 1968 in Neustrelitz (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) and studied church music in Greifswald. He received his vocal training from Wolfgang Hellmich at Berlin’s Hanns Eisler Musikhochschule, and also took part in the lieder classes of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and Wolfram Rieger and attended masterclasses given by such artists as Peter Schreier and Max von Egmond.

Teßmer has pursued his love of early music in various ensembles, including Burkhard Wehner’s medieval ensemble Vox Nostra and the Ensemble Archaica. He is also a member of the Amalien Ensemble, comprising members of Rundfunkchor Berlin. As a concert singer, he appears in Germany and abroad.

Wolfgang Teßmer has been a permanent member of Rundfunkchor Berlin since 2004. He was a soloist in performances including the seven-hour presentation of Tavener’s The Veil of the Temple at Berlin’s Hamburger Bahnhof. Additionally, he can be heard regularly with his programmes in the Radio Chorus’s chamber music series.
