The Berlin soprano Barbara Kind studied singing with Julie Kaufmann at the city’s Universität der Künste and graduated with diplomas in opera (2005) as well as concert and oratorio (2006; with honours). She supplemented her training with master courses given by René Jacobs, Kristina Laki and Axel Bauni.
After completing her studies, she spent two years as a freelance and sang in many opera productions, including at Berlin’s Deutsche Oper, the Richard Strauss Festival in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Bamberg Early Music Festival.
As a concert soloist, she has sung in venues including the Berlin Cathedral and Philharmonie, but also elsewhere in Europe. Her repertoire embraces the great masses and oratorios as well as modern compositions.
Since April 2008, she has been a permanent member of Rundfunkchor Berlin, and also appears as a soloist at its concerts.
