The Rundfunkchor Berlin is one of the most renowned professional choirs in the world. A two-time Grammy Award winner, the choir is a highly sought-after partner of leading orchestras and conductors. With its exceptional concert projects and innovative programmes, the choir is a shaping force of the international music scene.
AIMS
The Academy of the Rundfunkchor Berlin introduces young singers to the varied ensemble work of a professional concert choir and allows them to experience first hand music making with notable orchestras and conductors.
You will learn:
- about the interplay between leading, adjusting and cooperation when singing in an ensemble
- how to modulate with your voice
- to improve your stylistic approach to works from different periods
- how best to approach complex, contemporary scores
- more about singing in a small ensemble
- to perfect your sight singing skills
PROCEDURE
You will attend all of the rehearsals stipulated by your Academy contract. Your personal mentor from the Rundfunkchor Berlin will be available for individual consultation meetings. Please note that rehearsals are usually held in German.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Trainees of the Academy receive a trainee allowance of 400 € per month.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Please send us your application including letter of motivation. After a successful audition you can be admitted as an intern of the Academy for a period generally lasting 6 months.
